If photography is about self satisfaction, then this is the my best click so far. Here I would like to quote a saying by Ted Grant :

~When you photograph people in colour you photograph their clothes. 

 But when you photograph people in B&W, you photograph their souls!~

This is my first portrait, and it gives me boundless pleasure to bag the credit for recognizing the emotion, capturing and editing it. OK I'll not be selfish, 'some' credit goes to my friend for being my model :p

This picture has taught me some things, which I'd like to share with you:

1. Not everyone can appreciate the beauty of SadNEsS :(

2. My opinion of the picture does not matter much, but it is my viewers' reviews that i count on :) So please comment.

That's an eye, of the Perfectionist. A lens is a complement to the photographer's eye.
A reality forger has been seized in this picture forever.

Well, as far as my experience with this picture is concerned, I had to take multiple pictures experimenting with different lights and angles. Ultimately I chose this picture showing a tilted angle of the lens.

This picture has been edited using photoshop. Effects added are Radial Blur and grayscale.

That's my friend's picture clicked with just a regular mobile phone camera. Since the face was pointing towards the sun, the picture had to struggle through overwhelming brightness. Taking advantage of this, i turned the picture into grayscale leaving the brighter parts white. Then just added a couple of filters to get a nice cutout of the face. Covered the image with a transparent gradient applied diagonally with blue and magenta on the opposite ends.
